It had been a while since Valve made Deadlock playable for the general public. Yes, the game was and still is ‘invite only’, but getting an invite for the game has proven to be pretty easy lately. Now, in the last 2 years Deadlock has undergone a plethora of changes to its playable characters and modes, but the devs never really bothered to add a proper Ranked mode with robust matchmaking. There were ranks in the game but they were not of importance. That thing changed on 31st July, 2026 when Valve finally dropped a designated Ranked Mode in Deadlock, and decided to overhaul the player ranks completely.

The devs have completely changed the icons of the different ranks. Also, they have added a few new ranks and subtracted a few. You can take a look at the new Rank Distribution from our revamped Ranked Distribution page.

After the update, how you play Ranked has also changed drastically. Previously, there was just a Standard mode with no limitations along with the usual Street Brawl mode. But now the Standard and Ranked modes are two different parts of the playlist. Everybody who has Deadlock installed is eligible to play the Standard Mode. But for Ranked Mode you need to make sure that you fulfill these requirements in order to be eligible.

60 Wins

You heard it right. In order to play Ranked, the first thing you need is a whopping 60 wins in the Standard Mode. That should give you the idea about how many matches you need to play in order to secure 60 victories. Just click on your grey-out ranked mode and it will show how many wins you have out of 60.

15 Wins each on at least 3 Characters

60 wins does not mean you get to just spam matches with your best performing character and secure the wins. You have to play multiple characters, and make sure that at least 3 of your characters have a minimum of 15 wins recorded on them. Again, you check the number of wins on your characters by clicking on the Ranked Mode and then clicking on the Heroes tab.

Calibration Phase

After you get 60 wins which includes 15 wins each of at least 3 characters, you just unlock the Ranked Mode. After you unlock the mode, the game needs 8 Ranked matches from you in order to calibrate your Rank. During this time you cannot party with a friend. Which means you have to go through this phase completely solo.

So there you have it. Those were the requirements for the Ranked Mode in Deadlock. Your rank will reset at the end of each reason, and every new season you will have to go through the calibration phase by playing 8 matches in order to get your rank.
