Spirit Melee Tankish Ivy [63% WR]

This is a personal build made for playing what I like to call "Tankish Ivy." If you're not one to play aggressive than this build isn't for you. Most cards have details on why they're useful, so if you're a peep who wants to know why I use certain stuff, just check out the descriptions.

So, you want to learn how to melee Ivy? Don't worry I gotchu! Now the most important question to a melee ivy, how do you not get parried? The best way to avoid getting parried is to get into your opponent's head. Melee Ivy is a mind game, and you need to do your best to make sure the enemy team has no idea wtf you're doing. This includes parry baits, melee cancels, and being super aggressive. You need to make sure the enemy team does not feel safe around you, because that will lead them to make stupid decisions. The next important question, when should you throw melees? Every. Second. Ok maybe not every second, but like stated, you need to be very aggressive, so that also means throwing melees whenever possible. Now there are situations where you should prioritize other things, such as your stone form when you have the whole enemy team on you. You just need to be aware of your position, how many enemies you're fighting, and how strong each enemy is.

Melee Ivy Tips! 1. Watch Cyrus' melee Ivy guide if you're a babeh to playing Ivy, or any melee character. He goes a LOT more in depth on melee ivy in his videos, than I will on this build page. 2. If your 3 is maxxed and you hit an opponent with stoneform heavy melee them. (If they have debuff resists, than make sure to get Duration Extender) 3. Predict what your opponent is thinking. If you think they're gonna parry, than hmc or curve that thang. 4. Once again be aggressive. You're a close range build, you can't play like a vindicta.

Tankish Ivy guide time! We have a few basic rules here. Firstly, don't get parried. Secondly, stone form is your savior item. If you are in a group of people without it you will die very quickly, so use it correctly. Third and finally, you are not the carry, you are the anti-carry. This does not necessarily mean you can't carry your team, it just means you shouldn't go out of your way to TRY and be the carry. Now what exactly is your job as tankish Ivy? You are basically a CC support semi-tank. To sum it up, you make space for your team, absorb everything, stun everyone, and win the game. In team fights it is your job to make space, waste enemy abilities, protect your carry players, stun as many people as possible, and focus the biggest threat to make sure they can't do anything. You're basically playing Ivy as if she was Billy.
